Edmund Chan has a twin passion in ministry - expository preaching and mentoring. His insightful biblical teachings have made him a sought-after speaker in different major cities, often with invitations 3?5 years ahead.

After leading as the Senior Pastor of Covenant Evangelical Free Church (CEFC) for 25 years, Edmund implemented a successful leadership-succession plan in January 2012. At the request of the church leadership, he remains on staff. As the Leadership Mentor, he continues to mentor top-level leaders within Singapore and beyond. These include CEOs, senior pastors and denominational leaders, theological educators as well as national and regional directors of para-church organizations.

His present leadership focus is to champion the global vision for Intentional Disciplemaking Churches (IDMC) vision through the Global Alliance of Intentional Disciplemaking churches (GA-IDMC). This is done through conferences, consultations, mentoring and internships. In spite of a conference-saturated Singapore, the annual IDMC Conference in Singapore remains a sold-out conference (with a fully paid registration a year in advance!) of more than 2500 participants from about 197 churches in 23 countries.

Edmund completed his two-year Masters degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (USA) in less than nine months and graduated summa cum laude. He is well complimented by his gifted wife, Ann, who actively ministers with him. They have co-authored Roots and Wings, a discipleship handbook that is used by many cell groups. Edmund has also authored several other books, including Growing Deep in God (2002); Mentoring Paradigms (2008); Growing Deep In Faith (2010) and Cultivating Your Inner Life (2010). They have two late-teens daughters, Amanda and Belicia.
